Imsy for Android, iOS and Symbian now available

The wait is over :-)

After two months of private beta, Imsy is now launching for all users on iOS (iPhones, iPods and 2x variant for iPads), Android (2.2+ compatible phones and tablets) and Symbian (touch screen phones).

Thanks to all beta users for taking a chance on us, trying out Imsy while it still had rough edges around it and sending your valuable feedback and suggestions. We have taken in most of your suggestions and today, we are releasing the app on all three platforms. The App Store and Market links are below.

This version supports message Delivery Notices and faster chat experience - with embellishments like "is typing..."

Also, for common every-day messages ('coffee?', 'lunch?', 'stuck in traffic', ...) and special greetings ('i love you', 'happy birthday,...), as you type your message Imsy suggests relevant images and videos that you can attach to your message. So, go ahead and express with a picture instead of a thousand words.

Again, based on your feedback to the Beta, we have added interesting new messaging apps inside Imsy such as Facebook Birthdays (which sends a daily birthday reminder of your Facebook friends), Comics (Dilbert, Calvin & Hobbes, Love Is), Local Weather forecasts, Live Stock Quotes, Daily Deals (powered by GroupOn). Our developer partners are working on bringing tens of new apps to Imsy soon. If you are a developer and interested in using Imsy for messaging, drop in a note to team (at) imsy (dot) com

On Symbian platform specifically, we have done huge improvements to the application performance. Now you can see Instant Push Notifications without compromising on battery performance. In our labs, we have seen over 72 hours of battery life with Imsy running in the background. For power users, who are concerned about bandwidth usage, you can even control the frequency of messages refresh in the app.

We are working on further improvements and new features. Group messaging should be available very soon.

Like always, we are all ears to listen to your suggestions and feedback. So, do keep them coming.

Cheers.
